Vihara Expansion Project

Carolina Buddhist Vihara made progress with the new multi-purpose room.  We were able to frame, build the roof, add doors and windows, waterproofed the cinder block for longevity, and the interior demolition, essentially connecting the main building to the new room.

The next step of the project is to do the rough-in plumbing and electrical work.  Once completed, this space will be used for various activities including services and/or residential space.  Please use the Donate page of our website.  All project expenses are detailed on the website.

Weekly Meditation Class

September 27, 2025 – Ayya Dhammakhippa held a meditation and sutta study class for Carolina Buddhist Vihara members/visitors. These classes are open to the public that are interested in meditation and learning Buddhist suttas (discourses). Currently, one class is held (in person and via Zoom) on Saturday morning. If you would like to join, please send your email address to the Vihara email address greenvillebv@gmail.com. Please check the Program and Classes page for more details.

September 13, 2025 – Carolina Buddhist Vihara holds a Meet and Greet event to welcome Ayya Dhammakhippa to the Vihara.

Everyone rejoiced in the arrival of Ayya Dhammakhippa. The focus of the event was to hear from Ayya Dhammakhippa and to resume services for the community. Schedule updates were made based on the feedback.

The following is a comment from an attendee: “I love the bhikkhuni. She has walked through the world, experienced its joys and pains, and then chosen a spiritual path, not to escape life, but to understand it more deeply. That kind of transformation feels more grounded and relatable, especially to those of us who are still entangled in the complexities of everyday life.”

Wherever the Buddha’s teachings have flourished, either in cities or countrysides,
People would gain inconceivable benefits.
The land and people would be enveloped in peace,
The sun and moon will shine clear and bright.
Wind and rain would appear accordingly, and there will be no disasters.
Nations would be prosperous and there would be no use for soldiers or weapons.
People would abide by morality and accord with laws.
They would be courteous and humble, and everyone would be content without injustices.
There would be no thefts or violence.
The strong would not dominate the weak, and everyone would get their fair share.
